I’m supporting the people of Gaza

I know this is very off topic but I wanted to write this.

I just read that in the last 13 days. Over 700 palestinians have been killed, several hundred of these were children, and today, 2 aid workers were shot and killed by isreal even after being given the green light to go into the area.

This makes no sense to me. Why aren’t all the other nations condenming Isreal for this clearly random bombing of Gaza? How is it fair that a technically illegal country which Isreal is, is allowed to murder so many innocent people? The people of Gaza were there long before Isreal was and have only attacked Isreal in the past due to Isreal blockading supplies and making life very hard for people in Gaza.

Isreal is not acting proportionally to the attacks they’ve had from Gaza, they are simply murderers using the small number of Isrealis killed by rockets from Gaza as an excuses to kill hundreds, soon to be thousands of civilians in Gaza.

  1. “Why aren’t all the other nations condenming Isreal for this clearly random bombing of Gaza? How is it fair that a technically illegal country which Isreal is, is allowed to murder so many innocent people?”

Very nice post, the reason is because US is controlled by Jewish Lobby and Jewish minorities. Just review the US presidential race, and ask why each of these candidates must show their loyalty to Israel??
US has vetoed all of condemnations on Israel in UN Security Council. They share this crime with Israel which is an illegitimate regime.

  2. Nobody wants to say this, but civilians ARE deliberately targeted in war. What was done during World War II? Cities were bombed mercilessly, and men, women and children were burned alive.

Of course the civilians were the targets. Governments can not wage war for long without the consent of the people, which is why they generate so much propaganda. The purpose of the bombing was to undermine public support for the war in the enemy country by devastating its civilian population.

I don’t see anything new here. War is evil, and always has been. Rather than make a technical argument against this particular war, we should all take a principled stand against war in general. Any undertaking that necessarily involves the murder of innocent people, including little children, can NEVER be acceptable or necessary, the lies of the state and its apologists notwithstanding.

Christianity was supposed to have taught us a different way to relate to others, including our enemies. And what’s happened? The soldiers in our ostensibly Christian countries have nominally Christian chaplains bless them before they go out to kill whichever strangers their superiors tell them to kill. Wonderful, isn’t it?

I’m with you in supporting the victims of this murderous violence. It all makes me so sad. This is how the world has always been. What can we do, except refuse to be a part of it?

  3. “The people of Gaza were there long before Isreal”

    ….?

Do you mean the state of Israel, or the Jewish people? Go back far enough and you’ll find it was the Jewish that were kicked out first.

All religion is evil. We need to free ourselves from its hindrance, before we kill ourselves, which is where these nutters will absolutely take us.
